Eddie Smith

FUQUAY-VARINA- Eddie Smith, 48, passed away Tuesday night at his home surrounded by his loving family. A native of Wake County, Eddie is the son of Ralph Edward Smith, Sr. and Billie McLamb Smith of Fuquay-Varina. Funeral Services will be held Saturday at 1:00 PM at Kennebec Baptist Church, Angier. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In addition to his parents, Eddie is survived by his wife of 30 years, Jennifer Nichols Smith of Fuquay Varina; daughter, Lauren Byrd and husband, John of Angier; son, Eric Smith of Fuqauy-Varina; grandchildren, Jayson Smith, Hunter, Jackson and Caidance Byrd; brother, Wayne McLamb of Benson; father-in-law, Jack Nichols of Virginia Beach, VA; mother-in-law, Sandra Franks of Morehead City; sisters-in-law, Susan Carson and husband, Michael of Carson, VA, Emilie Cary of Greensboro; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Eddie was an avid fisherman who loved to be out on the boat all day in the great outdoors with his family and friends. That love of the outdoors led him to start his grading company, RES Grading. He had a love for cars and enjoyed restoring and working on cars for family and friends. Eddie is preceded in death by his brother, Danny McLamb. Family will receive friends Friday from 6:00-8:00 PM at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to 3HC Hospice, 723 S.
