Edith Jane Thompson

Edith Jane Thompson 81, of Hadley PA passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on May 11, 2023 in Coats Grove, North Carolina

Edith was born in Fredonia to Raymond & Marguerite Redfoot on May 14, 1941, she attended Commodore Perry School and graduated in 1959; in 1963 Edith joined the U.S. Army, where she met and married Eliot W. Thompson in November of 1964. Together, they would raise their children, Peter & Heather while living in southern California. Edith worked for Beckman Industries as an Inspector alongside Eliot and later as bank teller with Sears Savings Bank. Edith decided to become a stay-at-home mother and babysitter, impacting the lives of several children in her neighborhood.

Edith is survived by her husband of 59 years Eliot, son Peter and daughter Heather, brothers: John and Frank, sisters Eleanor & Ethel, three grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews

Edith was a long-standing member of Clarks Mills Church in Hadley and most recently, Oak Grove Community Church in Mercer, viewing sermons online due to COVID and health restrictions.

A celebration of life gathering will be held on June 30th, 2023
