ANGIER – Edward Jackson “Ed” Bowden, Sr., 88, passed away at his home on Sunday. Born in Harnett County, he was the son of the late William Thurman “W.T.” Bowden and Louise Starling Bowden.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 16th at 12:00 pm at Lakeside Memorial Gardens, Angier. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 16th prior to the service from 10:30-11:30 am at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier.
Ed is survived by his wife of 63 years, Charlotte B. Bowden; daughter, Angela Bowden Kadoura (Jamil) of Chapel Hill; sons, Jack Bowden (Ginny) of Angier and Bobby O’dell Bowden of Tillery; sister, Sandra Anderson (Danny) of Dunn; brother, Cecil Bowden (Sue) of Angier; sister-in-law, Judy Bowden of Angier; grandchildren, Ambara Kadoura, Jenin Kadoura, Zidane Kadoura, Dustin Bowden (Ania), and Jennifer Stewart (Kyle); great-grandchildren, Corbin, Liam, River, Huntleigh, Julia and Roman.
In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his sisters, Ima Jean Bowden Davis, and Betty Lou Bowden Herring; brother, Jerry Bowden; and granddaughter, Susie Hawkins.
