Edward Leon Gillespie

RALEIGH-Edward Leon Gillespie,68, passed away Wednesday. A native of Kanawha, WV, he is the son of the late Edward & Tressie Lowe Gillespie. Mr. Gillespie graduated from Meadow H.S. and received a B.A. from Wake Tech. After 33 years serving the citizens of the state of North Carolina, he retired from the Secretary of State office as a Securities Investigator and Mutual Funds Analyst. Edward was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Working with electronics was a true passion of his. Funeral Services will be Friday at 1:00 PM at Garner Advent Christian Church. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Magdalene Gillespie; daughter Marilyn Gillespie Ragan of Garner; son, Mike Gillespie and wife, Connie of Garner; grandchildren, Bradley & Brittany Ragan of the home; sister, Rebecca Jernigan and husband, Thomas of Dunn; brother, Roger Gillespie of Benson.
