Edward Mckendry

Edward McKendry, 79, of Raleigh died Tues. October 9, 2012 at Oaks of the Carolinas in Raleigh. A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 13 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 831 Wake Forest Road, Raleigh. Ed was born on May 11, 1933 in Beacon, New York. He graduated from School of Mines in South Dakota with a degree in Engineering. He was a valued structural engineer for Booth & Associates, Inc. for 25 years. He was an avid long distance runner, and enjoyed camping, sailing, biking, and painting. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary McKendry and brother, Andy McKendry. Ed is survived by his wife, Katie Anne McKendry, daughter Sue McKendry & partner Midge Noble, son Jimmy McKendry & his partner Steven Yarborough, Donna & Brian Kessler, Mac & Barbara Poole, Ralph Poole, Amy, Dave, & Daniel McKendry-Stokes and seven grandchildren. The family expresses deep gratitude for the care Ed received at Oaks of the Carolinas and to United Hospice for their compassion and professionalism.
