Edward Young “Butch” Reavis

August 30, 1935 — July 10, 2016

Early Sunday morning, July 10th, Butch made his transition to Heaven. He was born, Edward Young Reavis on August 30, 1935 in Angier, NC. Butch was a faithful member and worker at Fellowship Baptist Church, Old Stage Road, where he served in many capacities. He loved serving the McCuller’s Ruritan Club for many years. His profession was in the steel industry, working many years at Peden Steel and NC Steel. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Thursday at Fellowship Baptist Church, 5029 Old Stage Road, Raleigh, NC 27603. Burial will follow at Willow Spring Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 9:30-11:00 am prior to the service. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Nancy Baker Reavis; daughters and sons-in-law, Stephanie and Michael Miller of Hudson, FL; Wendy and Kendall Beasley of Clayton, NC; grandchildren, Edward Myatt King, Krysten Giles, Hunter Mac Beasley, Breanna LaRae Beasley; three great grandchildren, Justin, Nevaeh and Nova, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Perri F. and Mae Shaw Reavis and three brothers and one sister. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fellowship Baptist Church.
