She also had a passion for reading novels and working word puzzles. Elaine was a highly competitive Scrabble player! She also had a talent in the garden, thanks to a healthy green thumb. Her love of animals was a constant in her life and she did all that she could on their behalf. When diagnosed with lung cancer in 2013, she remained dedicated to her family and in her will to fight her illness. She remained a brave, iron-willed woman, even throughout her final months.Per Elaines wishes, she will be cremated. Her ashes will be buried with loved ones that predeceased her, as well as scattered in the places that were very special to her. The family would especially like to thank; Lesley Gordius and Bobbi Hesson for their care, the staff of The Laurels at Forest Glen, for their care; Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, for making the arrangements; Hope Community Church, for providing strength during this difficult time; and Wendy Dunn, for lending her angelic voice to this celebration of Elaines life.
