Elba Francisca Franco, 82, died Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Wake Med in Raleigh. Elba’s life was about being with her family. Her love was for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a close relationship with her brothers and sisters, as well as her cousins. She was affectionately known as Mami Elba. She had a heart of gold, and enjoyed being surrounded by her family. She ran a successful business as a pattern maker and was head of quality control for Liz Claiborne in India. She loved to dance, and cook for her family. She loved flowers of all kinds and gardening. Surviving are her daughters, Eunie Walder and husband Jack of Cary, and Grace Stampf and husband Jonathan of New Jersey; son, Joe Gomez and wife Linda of Long Island, NY; sisters, Maggie, Reyna and Elizabeth; brothers, Humberto, Billy, Frankie and Danny; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; numerous cousins and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 10:30 am Thursday at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Cary, NC. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
