Elizabeth Cottengim

Elizabeth R. Cottengim passed away peacefully in Garner NC on August 9, at the age of 99. She was born in Berea, Kentucky on April 20, 1923, the daughter of Arthur and Sally Rice. She grew up in Winchester, Kentucky and raised her family there. She moved to Garner, NC in 1985, where she enjoyed being close to family, her membership at Aversboro Baptist Church and her friends at the Garner Senior Center. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband Ralph, her son Ricky and her daughter Leigh. She is survived by her sons David (Emily) and Tim (Jane), sister Carole Hamilton, four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. The family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to the staff and caregivers at Cadence of Garner and to Transitions LifeCare for their love and support. Per Elizabeth’s request, there will be no funeral service. As a proud Kentucky native, she will be buried in Winchester Kentucky beside her husband Ralph following a short graveside service. To honor her memory, the family suggests memorial contributions to Transitions LifeCare, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607.
