RALEIGH - Elizabeth Hope Shearon Ferneyhough, 87, beloved mother and friend, passed away Monday night. Born December 16, 1928, Hope grew up in Raleigh and attended both Mars Hill College and Wake Forest College. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 3:00 PM at The Point Church, 3700 Lake Wheeler Rd, Raleigh, NC 27603 (formerly Inwood Baptist Church). Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Survivors include her daughters, Rena Marie Ferneyhough of Raleigh and Jeanne Elizabeth Ferneyhough of Cary; son, Richard Ferneyhough, Jr. and daughter-in-law, Vicki of Raleigh; grandchildren, Katie and Tyler Ferneyhough; sister-in-law, Dorothy Ferneyhough and children. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar Louis Shearon and Harriett Bennett Shearon; her husband, Richard Ferneyhough, Sr. and her brothers, Jonathan, Kervin, and Emil.
