Elizabeth Josephine Newsome

Clayton- Elizabeth Johnson Newsome, 93, passed away Wednesday at Wake Medical Center. Funeral services will be 3:00 pm Friday at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, where Mrs. Newsome was a longtime member. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Survivors include her sons, Albert Lee “Buddy” Newsome, Jr. (Jackie) and Larry Newsome (Rebecca) all of Clayton; sister, Lily Mae Cooper; grandchildren, Luke Newsome, Betsy Moody (Aaron), Heather Ezzell (Ryan), Shannon Hanchey (Vernon) and Adam Newsome; great-grandchildren, Harper Lee, Nora, Garrett, Kirsten, Ethan, Preston and Madeline. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Lee Newsome, Sr. Flowers are welcome or memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, 3000 E.
