Elizabeth “Lib” Vaughan

October 26, 1924 — October 31, 2017

GARNER- Elizabeth “Lib” Fish Vaughan, 93, passed away peacefully on Tuesday. Born in Johnston County, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Bernice Jones. Lib was a salesclerk at Nowell’s Clothing for twenty years. Mother was a woman of strong faith. She loved church, family and friends. She had a passion for homecooking, baking and sharing her baked goods with friends. Funeral services will be Friday, 12:00 noon at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Fuquay. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park. The family will greet friends at the church one hour prior to the service. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two husbands, C. Wilton Fish and William “Bill” F. Vaughan; son, Roger W. Fish; sister, Dorothy Holder and brother, Ben Donald Jones. Survivors include her daughter, Sandra F. Stancil and husband, George “Skippy” Stancil of Cary; sisters, Margaret Wall and Jean Wheeler, both of Clayton; three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. The family wishes to express their love and gratitude to the Laurels of Forest Glenn in Garner for their assistance in her care over the past years. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 1005 Lake Wheeler Rd., Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526 or a charity of one’s choice.
