Elizabeth Yarborough

Garner - Elizabeth Yarborough, 82, of Garner, North Carolina passed away on Saturday, January 1st at her home. Mrs. Yarborough was born July 22, 1939 in Wake County to the late Simon F. Campbell and Annie Myrtle (Tudor) Campbell. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Malcolm D. Yarborough; siblings, Billy Campbell, Alice Mangum and brothers-in-law Lester Mangum and Jerry Stocks. She married the late Malcolm Dennis Yarborough on November 24, 1956. Mrs. Yarborough worked as an administrative assistant for the state of North Carolina for 15 years before her retirement, prior to, she worked as the office manager at an independent automotive garage where she worked alongside her husband. She and Mr. Yarborough moved to Carthage, TN in 2012 to live closer to their great-grandchildren. While there, she was an active member of the Lighthouse Church. After moving back to Garner in 2018 she renewed her membership with Fellowship Baptist Church. She is survived by son, Franklin D. Yarborough (Phyllis McElveen) of Lillington, NC; daughter Cathy (Robert) Shipp of Mooresville, NC; grandchildren Casey Minchey (Shannon) of Carthage, TN, Amber (Chris) Ryan of Raleigh, NC, Joseph (Kasie) Shipp of Maple Hill, NC; great-grandchildren Marissa, Nicholas, and Madison of Carthage, TN, Stella and Sophie of Maple Hill, NC. She is also survived by her sisters Jean Stocks of Fredricks, VA, Ann (Ben) Dorn of Appling, GA and Ellen (Larry) Nordan of Lillington, NC and a sister-in-law Carolyn Campbell of Wendell, NC. If you knew Mrs. Elizabeth at all, you knew she loved the Lord and sang his praises tirelessly. The family will receive visitors prior to the service from 10:00 am to 10:45 am with the service to follow at 11:00 at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home – Garner.
