CLAYTON - Ellen Dillon Bristle went peacefully to heaven, surrounded by her four children, who loved her so much, on March 1, 2022. She was born July 23, 1944, in Kew Gardens, New York. She was the daughter of the late William and Anna Dillon. She had one brother, the late Father William P. Dillon. She spent her early years moving from house to house as her parents were ahead of their time and were flipping houses. On December 26th, 1964 she was married to Emanuel Bristle and they soon started their young family. Mrs. Bristle had a very successful career as a medical transcriptionist and retired from Duke Raleigh in 2005. Survivors include her four children, Donald William Bristle and wife Danette of Waxhaw, NC, William Patrick Bristle and wife Shelia of McGee’s Crossroad, NC, Melissa B. Pergola and Husband Bruce of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Amy Bristle Benfield and her husband Rick of Charlotte, NC. Survivors also include her 7 grandchildren, Jacob, Christopher, Morgan, Zophia, Will, Anna & Sarah. She was very proud of each and every one of them and cherished their time together. She and Mannie were married for over 56 years. He preceded her in death by only 6th months. Her children know that they are now celebrating and rejoicing in peace. When diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer less than 4 months after Mannie passed from colon cancer, she said that she guessed he didn’t want to wait too long for them to be reunited. Her wit and humor were cherished by her family and friends. The love and support she gave her family has given them strength and they look forward to a happy reunion when it is their time to join her in heaven. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at Saint Anne’s Catholic Church in Clayton. The family will receive friends and relatives at the church one hour prior to the service. The burial will follow in Montlawn Memorial Park, Raleigh. Flowers are welcome, or in lieu, memorial contributions may be made to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org/donate Funeral arrangements are by Bryan-Lee Funeral Home of Garner.
