Elsie Arrington Ladd

Raleigh - Elsie Arrington Ladd died Sunday, February 2, 2014. She was the daughter of the late L.O. and Fannie Edwards Arrington, attended Edward Best High School in Louisburg, NC, and was married to George W. Ladd, Jr., who died in 1977. She worked as a telephone operator with Southern Bell before joining the North Carolina State Government as a switchboard operator. She was retired. Mrs. Ladd is survived by her three children: Barbara Ladd of Decatur, GA; Georgia Hodson of Apex, NC; and Wayne Ladd of Raleigh, NC. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Bryan Crumpler of Barstow, CA; Kristen Ferree of Willow Spring, NC; and Lauren Hodson of Charlotte, NC; one brother, Graham Arrington of Sanford, NC; four sisters, Ruth Saunders of Richmond, VA; Marjorie Coggin of Nashville, NC; Verlyne Clarke of Antioch, TN; and Linda Evans of Fuquay-Varina, NC; and four great-grandchildren : Taylor L. Crumpler and Bryan A. Crumpler of Texas; and Koen Ferree and Kloe Ferree of Willow Spring, NC. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 6, 2014, 2:00 PM, in the Bryan-Lee Funeral Home Chapel, 831 Wake Forest Road, Raleigh, NC 27604. Visitation for family and friends is one hour prior to the service.
