Raleigh – Elsie Tew Noles, 95, of Raleigh, NC, entered the gates of Heaven on December 27, 2014. She passed away peacefully at home following a short battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born on June 6, 1919 in Johnston County to the late Ransom Benjamin and Cora Beasley Tew. Elsie made lifelong friends in the years she worked at Dorothea Dix Hospital and K&W Cafeteria at Cameron Village. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, but loved her Lord and Savior above all. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Layden Memorial United Methodist Church, 2607 South Wilmington Street, Raleigh, NC with the Rev. Marshall Stewart presiding. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 pm at the church prior to the service. Survivors include her son, Robert and wife, Jackie of Morehead City; daughter, Joyce Waller of New Bern; son, Owen and wife, Kathleen Chuck of Newport; like a daughter, Dona Stanley of Four Oaks; grandchildren, Debbie, Doug and wife, Jennifer, Turi and wife, Sherry; great-grandchildren, Tiffany Brown, Ashley Wilson and husband, Randall , Trevor and Wesley Noles. Memorial gifts in Mrs. Elsie Noles’ memory can be made to Transitions LifeCare at 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607.
