Emily Partin Romano

August 22, 1937 — November 1, 2022

How fitting that Emily passed away on All Saints Day, Monday, November 1, 2022. Emily was truly saintly in her devotion to her family, her friends, and her faith. Emily was born on August 22, 1937 to Bruce and Ammarillis Partin in Wake County (Willow Spring, NC). After graduating high school in Louisburg where she made lifelong friends and excelled as a star player on the basketball team, Emily went to work for Carolina Power and Light in Raleigh where she met and married her first husband, Melvin Beal and gave birth to her beloved son, Braimon Beal. She was a dedicated and devoted mother. Emily later had a career working for an electrical parts company where she was a valued and diligent employee. In 1982 Emily met and married her second husband, Tony Romano, and they built a beautiful log cabin in Stem, NC. Their door was always open to visits by friends, family and especially grandchildren. Emily loved gardening and cooking (she never threw away a Southern Living magazine or recipe) and she was famous for her preserves and Christmas cookies. If you visited their log home and enjoyed one of Emily’s meals, she would remember your favorite food and make it for you again the next time you visited.

She is survived by her son, Braimon Beal (Wanda); granddaughter, Allison Shipp (Julian); great grandchildren, Ciaran, Addison, Gabriel and Oakley Shipp; devoted sister, Anna Green Stallings (Graham); step-children, Lorry Romano (Colleen Farris), Kate Norton (Stan); Richard Romano (Anne); grandchildren, Christopher Norton, Michael Norton, Elizabeth Norton, and Cutter Romano; as well as many loving Partin nieces and nephews.

Emily was preceded in death by Melvin Beal and Tony Romano; her brothers, D. Lorraine Partin and C. Allen Partin; and her sister, Virginia Monday.

A graveside service will be held at Willow Spring Primitive Baptist Church on December 2nd at 1:00 P.M., where Emily’s ashes will be interred alongside her parents.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests your charitable donations be made to Transitions LifeCare, 250 Hospice Way, Raleigh, NC 27607.
