Erma Byrd Holland

Angier- Erma Byrd Holland, age 93, went home to be with the Lord on Friday. A native of Johnston County, she was the daughter of the late Mack Sutton and Mary Etta Barnes Byrd. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 12:00 PM at Plainview Presbyterian Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery, Angier. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. A member of Plainview Presbyterian Church since 1948, active in Sunday school and Church, the Womens Circle where she held many positions and sang in the choir as long as her health allowed. She was honored with a Life Honorary Award from the Presbyterian Woman of New Hope in 2007, the highest honor in the Womens Organization. Surviving are sons, Donald Holland, Sr. and wife Joanne of Raleigh; Glen Holland of Benson; Randel Holland and wife, Sonia of Raleigh, daughter-in-heart, Joanne Holland Grimes and husband Donnie of Angier; eight grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, several nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Lloyd Randolph Holland, three brothers, four sisters, one great-grandson, Dustin Fowler, and a daughter-in-law, Linda Holland.Flowers are appreciated or memorial contributions may be made to Plainview Presbyterian Church, 2712 Plainview Church Road, Angier, N.C. 27501.
