Erma Jean Tyer

ANGIER- Erma Jean Tyer, 82, passed away Thursday at Central Harnett Hospital in Lillington. A native of Virginia, Erma was the daughter of the late Lara and Gladys Neal Hickman. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 1st at 2:00 PM at Bryan-Lee Funeral Chapel, Angier. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 1:45 PM prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Harnett Devotional Gardens, Dunn. The family will gather at the home of Mick and Melinda Tyer after the committal service. Erma is survived by her daughter, Gladys MacDonald of Angier; sons, Edward “Ed” Tyer of Mississippi, Mitchell “Mick” Tyer of Angier, John Taylor Tyer of Virginia; sister, Lois Faye Tew of Tarboro; nine grandchildren; numerous great-granchildren; several great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Richard “Rick” Tyer.
