Ervin Horace Dean

Clayton - Horace Ervin Dean, age 79, of Clayton, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 19th, 2019, surrounded by his family. He was born on August 13th, 1939, in Harnett County, North Carolina. Horace was the son of the late Ervin Wesley Dean and Elva Weeks Dean. He was the accomplished owner of Raleigh Drywall, Incorporated; he had a passion for music and was a talented musician. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 1:00 PM at McCullers Community Baptist Church, Raleigh. Burial will follow at Fellowship Community Cemetery, Angier. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner. He leaves behind his wife, Patsy, of 19 years, his son Kent Reid Dean and wife Kimberly Ann Dean; his daughter Rhonda Dean Godwin and husband Timothy Howard Godwin; Leonard Ray Avery III, David Michael Avery and wife Julie Renee Avery; his grandchildren: Krystal Starlyn Godwin, Brooke Taylor Godwin, Brent Reid Dean, Brandon Owen Roberts, Matthew Cody Roberts, MacKenzie Renee Avery, Makayla Rae Avery, Andrew David Avery and Joshua Michael Avery; his great grandchildren: Kendell Michelle Roberts and Caden Owen Roberts; brothers: Donald Dean and wife Kay Dean, Dwayne Dean and wife Christine Dean, and brother-in-law Rayvon Langdon. He was preceded in death by his brother Harold Dean and his sister Brenda Langdon. Patsy describes Horace as the perfect man, in her eyes. He was a devoted and loving father and grandfather. He lived life to the fullest and he will truly be missed.
