Esther Louise Rhodes

January 1, 1937 - October 10, 2012 Clayton - Esther Louise Rhodes, 75, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday. Louise was the daughter of the late Alva Joseph and Ruby Lee Miles Geddings. Prior to moving to the Raleigh area she worked at Carolina Hardware in Florence, South Carolina and continued in the hardware business spending many years at Briggs Hardware in Raleigh. Funeral Service will be at 4:00 pm Sunday, October 14, 2012 at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home Chapel, Garner. The family will receive friends following the service on Sunday evening at the funeral home. Burial will be Monday at 1:00PM at Florence National Cemetery, Florence, South Carolina. Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Simpson Rhodes, Jr.; sister, Margaret Feys Smith; and brother, A.J. Geddings. Surviving include her daughter, Sabrina Sorrell and husband, David, of Clayton; sons, Richard Michael Mike Rhodes, of Willow Spring, Larry Rhodes and wife, Rhonda, of Clayton, and Timmy Rhodes and wife, Reta, of Clayton; grandchildren, Brandi Jo Burdine, Lauren Michele Rhodes, Bethany Weaver, R.M. Mikey Rhodes, Candace Rhodes, and Jackson Rhodes; great grandson, David Keith Burdine; and a sister, Shelby McNeil and husband, Jim, of Clayton.
