Esther Rhora Long

Garner - Esther Rhora Long, 76, passed away on Thursday. A funeral service will be held on Monday at 12 noon at Mt. Herman Christian Church, Garner. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM prior to the service at the church. Esther was daughter to the late Charles and Gladys Rhora. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Linwood “Buck” Long. She is survived by her brother, Wayne Rhora and sisters, Ruth Catlett and Rachel Selisker and numerous nieces and nephews. Although Esther had no children of her own, she was beloved “Miss Esther” to her young Sunday School students and a second mother to her family. Esther was a devoted Christian who enjoyed Bible study and reading. During her career she most enjoyed her administrative work in specialty advertising.
