ANGIER - Etta Mae Barnes Cobb, 88, passed away on Friday. A native of Harnett County she was the daughter of the late Nassie Barnes and Flonnie Godwin Barnes. A devoted wife, mother, and Mema, she was considered a five star chef to her family and to anyone who graced her kitchen. Aside from being the queen of chicken pastry, Etta was known for having a world class sense of humor. Her talents included sewing, picking the guitar and embracing her friends and family with open arms and a loving heart. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:00 PM at Angier United Methodist Church. Burial to follow at Angier Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Surviving; her daughter, Tammy Cobb Pentony and husband, Peter of Buies Creek, son, Ty Cobb and wife, Kathy of Angier, grandchildren, Tyler Cobb, Lindsey Cobb, Matthew Campbell, Morgan Campbell and Madison Pentony. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Tyson Ray Cobb, sisters, Pearl Ingram, Reba Parrish, Clyda Wilmoth, and Marie Clayton, brothers, Dennis Barnes and Wallace Barnes. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6-8 pm at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier. Ettas family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff and friends at Oak Hill Living Center for the loving care they gave to their mother. Also a special thank you to Community Home Care and Hospice and to E. Carlton Powell Hospice Center in Lillington.
