Eugene Huntley Roberts., Jr.

Raleigh—Eugene Huntley Roberts Jr, 91, of Raleigh passed away at Sunrise Senior Living at North Hills Saturday December 12, 2015. Gene was a native of Raleigh and the son of Eugene H Roberts, Sr and Jessie Mitchell Roberts. He was a long time Sunday School teacher at Tabernacle Baptist and Forest Hills Baptist Churches where he served as a deacon and member of the choir. Gene was a loving husband, father and grandfather who always put himself behind God and others. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Florence Brooks Roberts and his brother Charles Benjamin Roberts. Gene is survived by a sister, Edythe Lynn Crocker of Raleigh, two daughters, Jeannie Hill of Hobe Sound, FL and Patricia Foushee and husband, Michael of Raleigh; two grandsons, Donivan Hill of New Orleans,LA  and Jonathan Foushee of Raleigh. A funeral service will be held Thursday, 2:00 pm December 17,2015 at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 831 Wake Forest Road. The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:45 at the funeral home, prior to the service. Interment will follow at Historic Oakwood Cemetery. The family wishes to thank dearly the staff and care givers at Sunrise for the love and attention shown to Gene over the past two years. We would also like to thank the staff of Transitions Life Care for their support.
