GARNER – Eva May Church Hord, 80, passed away unexpectedly on February 20, 2024. A native of Forsyth County, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Evert Garvy Church and Virginia Lewis Church.
In addition to her parents, Eva is preceded in death by her husband, Christien Hord; and sister, Margaret Porth, all of whom Eva loved very dearly.
Eva was a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother and great grandmother. She will be remembered fondly by her family and friends as a woman of great compassion, strength and creativity. Eva was an avid crocheter and loved sharing her craft with others through teaching and gifts.
Eva is survived her children, Kenneth Fulk, Jr. (Sharon), Karen (Sam) Sparks, Kelly Whitley, and Kathy Hayes; and Evert Kyle Hord (Cheryl); sister, Mary Raker; brother-in-law William R. Porth; grandchildren, Kristen (Brian) Pegram, Frankie Whitley, Ann-Marie Privette, Krystal Sparks, Brandi (Renny) Smith, Sammy (Whitney) Sparks, LuEva (Kyle) Willis, Shyanne (Devaseo) Wright, Lori (Bryant) Byrd, Christien (Cecilia) Hord, Haley Fulk, and Jesse Hord; and great-grandchildren, Dakota Pegram, Boaz Pegram, Shiloh Pegram, Audrey Whitley, Presley Whitley, Leah Privette, Salem Sparks, Kason Sparks, Dexter Willis, Silas Willis, Kyleigh Wright, Harper Wright, Alex Byrd, Kenly Byrd, and Parker Byrd. Eva leaves a multitude of extended family and friends, especially those from Lorraine’s Coffee House and Music in Garner.
