Evelyn Gail Godwin Pleasant MOTHER July 30, 1945 - April 30, 2013 Garner - Evelyn Gail Godwin Pleasant, 67, succumbed to her battle with breast cancer and has gone to be with her lord and savior. She is preceded in death by her father Mr. Howard Godwin and Mother Mrs. Geneva Dorman Godwin. She is survived by her husband Glenwood T. Pleasant, and three sons; Anthony Tony Pleasant and wife Earlene, of Raleigh; Randy T. Pleasant and wife Kristie, of Louisburg; Mark A. Pleasant and wife Renee of Garner. Brothers Billy Godwin and wife, Linda of Smithfield; Harold Godwin and wife Sue of Garner; (6) Grandchildren and (3) Great Grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and a very special pet Buddy the Rabbit. Gail retired from Progress Energy and devoted her time to family, church and community. She was active at Hollands United Methodist Church and a volunteer at Hospice of Wake Co. Gail was known for her famous eight layer chocolate cakes, pies and cookies and shared her secret recipe with the grandchildren when soliciting their help in the kitchen. She never met a stranger, and was a friend to everyone. She led by exemplifying courage in her life and will be dearly missed by family and friends. Memorial Services will be held Friday at 3PM at Hollands United Methodist Church 9433 Ten Ten Rd. Raleigh, N.C. 27603 In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions may be made in her name to Hospice House of Wake County 250 Hospice Cir, Raleigh, NC 27607 or Hollands United Methodist church Youth Ministry 9433 Ten Ten Road, Raleigh NC 27603.
