Everett Wayne Pittman

Everett Wayne Pittman, 81, entered his heavenly home on March 26, 2023 after a valiant battle with failing health. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace.

Everett was born to the late Carlyn and Melba Bissey Pittman, in Rinard, Illinois on April 15, 1941. As an aeronautical engineer, Everett led many teams during his 37 year career at the Federal Aviation Administration. An avid reader, Everett was a man of few words, but when he spoke others listened and respected what he had to say. A man of great faith, he lived out what he believed in serving his family and others.

Everett married his best friend, Doris Anne Henry Pittman on July 7, 1973 (proposing after a lengthy 8 week courtship) and they were blessed to spend nearly 50 years together. They built a loving family and raised their 3 kids in places such as California, Virginia, Belgium, Kansas, and North Carolina.

Everett is survived by his wife Doris, his son Benjamin Pittman (Lauren), his daughters Rebekah Cardenas (Jon) and Bethany Ragen (Sean), his grandchildren Cooper, Gabriel, and Eliza Cardenas, William and Greyson Pittman, and his brothers, Jim (Nancy), Terry, and Joe (Maranna). He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Judy.

Everett will be honored in a Celebration of Life service at Hope Community Church, 821 Buck Jones Rd, Raleigh, NC 27606, on his birthday, April 15, 2023 at 11:00 am ET. The family gratefully declines flowers and donations, but prayers and memories are gladly appreciated on this site.
