Faye Farrior Johnson

June 26, 1927 — December 3, 2015

Raleigh – Faye Farrior Johnson, 88, passed away on Thursday, December 3.  A native of Wallace, NC, Mrs. Johnson was the daughter of the late Leslie James and Ruby Pigford Farrior and the widow of George P. Johnson, Sr. Faye was a graduate of Hardbargers Business College in Raleigh but dedicated most of her time to her family, her community and her church. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother but always found time to serve the Lord. She was President of the Raleigh chapter of the Womens Aglow fellowship as well as leading various circle groups and being a devoted choir member. Faye was extremely proud to be ordained as a Deacon at Forest Hills Baptist Church. Surviving are her daughter, Beth Johnson Howard of Wilmington; her son, George P. Johnson, Jr. and his wife Rhonda of Raleigh; a grandson, Bobby Howard of Wilmington; a great granddaughter, Rylie Howard of Wilmington; and many beloved nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends.  She was preceded in death by her brother, “Buddy” Farrior, and her sister, Dottie Robinson Crews. A funeral service will be held at Noon on Monday, December 7, at Forest Hills Baptist Church.  The family will receive friends following the service.  Burial will be at Saint Bartholomew Episcopal Church Cemetery in Pittsboro.
