Greensboro - Florence Crutchfield, 88, died Monday after a brief illness. Born in Durham, she was the daughter of Hubert and Lessie Howell. She was married to Dewey Crutchfield for 66 years. She was a member of Starmount Presbyterian Church. A memorial service in celebration of her life will be held Thursday, November 2, at 10:00 am in the chapel at WhiteStone Masonic and Eastern Star Community. A graveside service will be held at a family cemetery in Youngsville, NC, followed by visitation at 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 4 at Fletcher’s Chapel United Methodist Church 1919 Fletcher’s Chapel Road, Durham, NC 27703. In addition to her husband, she is survived by their children, Jane Brocious (Bob), Joe Crutchfield (Debbie), Suzanne Cobb (Jimmy), Paul Crutchfield (Kim); 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Maxine Lane; and nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to WhiteStone Masonic and Eastern Star Community (700 South Holden Road, Greensboro, NC 27407) or Shriners Children’s Hospital (Amran Temple, 11101 Creedmoor Road, Raleigh, NC 27614).
