Forrest Russell Ryals

October 15, 1930 -May 10, 2012 Raleigh - Forrest Russell Ryals, 81, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2012, surrounded by his loving family. A native of Wake County, he was born October 15, 1930 to the late Carl W. Ryals and Irene Clark. Forrest proudly served his country in the US Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was a proud Mason and was a part of the William T. Bain Lodge #231 in Raleigh. He was also a retired corrections office with the Wake County Department of Corrections. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, May 13th at 3:00 PM at Plymouth Church with burial to follow in the Plymouth Church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Eva Ryals, daughters, Patricia Ryals Davis, Deborah Ryals Stiles, and husband, David, Elsie Lorraine Ryals and Marjorie Ryals Flippo and husband, Geoffery; son, Jerry Russell Ryals and wife, Lisa; sister, Bonnie R. Archer; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.Mr. Ryals was preceded by two wives, Jerry Maude Ryals and Esther Ryals; daughter, Molly Ryals; sisters, Noi and Christine Ryals; brothers, Jack, Wilbur, John, and Carlton Ryals. The family will receive friends at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner, on Saturday, May 12, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
