Frances G. Lawrence

GARNER- Frances Glenn Lawrence, 86, passed away Monday at Hospice House. She was born in Brooksville, Florida to Karl B. and Irene G. Glenn and was raised in Raleigh, NC. She graduated from Hugh Morson High School in 1945 and from UNC-G (formerly WCUNC) in 1949. Mrs. Lawrence taught school for several years and retired from the Deans School of Education at NCSU as an accounting technician in 1989.Mrs. Lawrence was a longtime member of Garner United Methodist Church. She was a Life Member of Garner chapter #321, Order of the Eastern Star, having served as Secretary for 44 years. Funeral services will 11:00 am Thursday at Garner United Methodist Church with Rev. Susan Hobbs officiating. Burial will be private. Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Jarvis B. Lawrence; step-daughters, Deborah Lawrence Brucoli of Boardman, OH and Trudy Lawrence of Las Vegas, NV; 3 grandchildren, Christopher V. Pearce of Apex, Samantha Ellen Dees and Jonathan Glenn Dees of Cary. Mrs. Lawrence was preceded in death by her first husband, Elipa Gavin McCullen and daughters, Janet Lee McCullen Smith and Jo Ellen McCullen Dees. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Garner United Methodist Church, 201 Methodist Drive, Garner, NC 27529 or to a charity of your choice.
