Frances Herndon Smith

Frances Herndon Smith, 89, of Raleigh died at her home Thursday afternoon. She was born in Randolph County to the late John David Herndon and Swanie Hall Herndon. She was a graduate of Ramseur High School and a member of St. James United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband, William Nelson Smith and her son, Jay Corbett Smith of Durham. Funeral services will be held 2:00PM Monday, July 29, 2013, at St. James United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park. It is requested that memorial contributions be made to the Building Fund at St. James UMC, 3808 St. James Road, Raleigh, NC 27604.
