Frances Judith Darden

Frances Judith Darden, 97, passed away December 22, 2012. The daughter of Fannie Turner and William Hodges Darden Sr., Miss Darden was born in Portsmouth, VA on February 3, 1915.Moving from Washington, NC, Frances lived the remainder of her life in Raleigh and was a life member of Edenton Street United Methodist Church.She was a long time employee of Dr. Joseph J. Combs and later retired from the Wake County School System.Miss Darden was preceded in death by her sisters, Virginia D. Hay and Addie M. Darden, and brothers, Edward Claude Darden and William H. Darden, Jr.She is survived by nieces Emmie (John) Iliopoulos, Billie (Jim) Watson and Nancy (David) Stewart, and nephews, Edward C. (Sallie) Darden and Gilbert (Charlene) Hay III.A graveside service will be held Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at 3 pm at Montlawn Memorial Park.Arrangements are by Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Raleigh.
