Frances Lynch Hunter

August 18, 1946 — August 19, 2024

GARNER – Frances Lynch Hunter, 78, took her place amongst the angels on Monday, August 19th, 2024, after a long battle with terminal illness. Frances was born in Johnston County to Robert and Pauline Lynch on August 18th, 1946.

Frances worked in retail for much of her life, and managed Dollar General in Cary and then Holly Springs before she retired. In her younger years, she was known to be feisty and adventurous. She never met a stranger and would give to any friend in need. As Frances grew older, so did her grace and kindness. She loved to read and would give away her books once she had read them. She loved cooking and always loved making new dishes for her family and friends. She valued her relationship with Christ, her family, and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Frances is survived by her son, Thomas (TJ) Williams (Jamie); brothers, Ed and Jeff; sister, Roberta (Gay) White; and four grandchildren, Kayla, Ray, Logan, and Robert Williams.

In addition to her parents, Frances is preceded in eternal peace by her husband, Gary Whittaker, and her son Johnny Williams, whom she loved very dearly.

There will not be a public service for Frances. She would not have wanted “all that fuss”. Instead, she would want people to remember the good times and embrace those still among us while we can.
