Frances "Marie" Gilmore

ANGIER – Frances “Marie” Gilmore, 85, passed away on Monday at UNC Health Johnston Hospital in Smithfield. Born in Wake County, she was the daughter of the late Garman Hackney Poole and Mary Hester Poole.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 23rd at 2:00 pm at Montlawn Memorial Park, Raleigh. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Thursday, June 22nd at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier.

Marie is survived by her daughter, Georgia Gilmore Higgins (Dennis); sister, Peggy Hessman; brothers, Jesse Poole, and Billy Poole; grandsons, B.T. Higgins (Jeni), Joe Higgins (Tayler), and Brian Bradshaw (Tammy); great-grandchildren, Chloe Jayde Higgins, and Wyatt Thomas Higgins; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Thomas Gilmore; daughter, Wanda Jean Green; sisters, Maggie Pardo, Virginia Sanderford, Cindy Smith, Margaret Jordan; brothers, Thomas “Buck” Poole and Robert Poole.
