ANGIER – Frances McGee Chatham, 90, passed away on Wednesday, October 7. She was born to the late A.Y. and Daisy McGee on March 19, 1925. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, J.B. Chatham; an infant son and brothers, Ben, Matthew, Leon, Jimmy and Phillip McGee. She is survived by daughters, Kay Ennis and husband Ken of Angier, Donna Goodwin and husband Darryl of Clayton; son John Chatham and wife Brenda of Fuquay-Varina; five granddaughters, Bridget Parker and husband Nelson of Fuquay-Varina, Corrie Campbell and husband Joey of Elgin, SC, Johnna Modlin and husband Greg of Greenville, Robyn and Haley Goodwin of Clayton; eight great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; and special sister, Ellen Johnson of Winterville, GA; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. As a homemaker, her passion was cooking and gardening. A member of Kennebec Baptist Church for over fifty years she was willing to serve where she was needed and placed others first. The family will receive friends Friday night from 6:00 -8:00 PM at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier. Funeral Services will be held Saturday at 3:00 PM at Kennebec Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Willow Spring Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family appreciates the acts of kindness and support provided by the staff at Oak Hill Assisted Living Center, Community Hospice, and by friends and family.
