Francis “Frank” Zelesky, 88, of Winter Park, Florida, went to be with the Lord on May 16, 2022, in Raleigh, North Carolina. He was born Sept. 24, 1933, on a tobacco farm in East Windsor, CT, to Voslovos and Mary Zaleckis, and he married Frances Whittlesey in 1958; they were married 58 years before her death in 2016. He is survived by three children and their spouses, Mark and Michelle Zelesky of Bolton, CT; Beverly and Garry Hogue of Beverly, OH; and Keith and Eva Zelesky of Benson, NC.; five grandchildren, Laura Williams (and husband David), Stephen Hogue, Zack Zelesky (and wife Amber), Kent Zelesky, and Megan Zelesky; and three great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Elijah, and Deborah Williams. He is also survived by his foster brother, Larry Cotter. He was predeceased by his parents, foster parents Lawrence and Agnes Cotter, six brothers and sisters, his wife, and beloved grandson Sam Zelesky. Frank served four years in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict and graduated from the University of Hartford with a BS in Engineering in 1959. He was a Registered Professional Engineer (PE) with an illustrious 45-year career and was the founder and first president of the Florida System Safety Society, a member of the Florida Engineering Society and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. Frank was active in Aloma Church in Winter Park, where he will be remembered for his kindness as a greeter. He spent his final years bringing cheer into the lives of everyone he encountered. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 9, at 11 a.m. at Baldwin-Fairchild Goldenrod Chapel in Winter Park. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Park at 2300 Temple Dr. in Winter Park. Memorial donations may be made to Samaritan’s Purse.
