Frank B. Mayfield, 81 years old passed away on Wednesday, April 09, 2025, at the Duke Hock Hospice Center in Durham, NC. He is preceded in death by his parents, W. Boyd Mayfield and Alma Kimball Mayfield, and his wife Margie Hall Mayfield. He attended Warren County schools and was a graduate of North Carolina State University. He worked for the Fred Whitaker Company until he retired and then for many years as a greeter for Walmart in Wake Forest. He loved to clogg and was a member of a clogging team in Raleigh, NC for several years. He loved people and enjoyed talking and socializing with friends. He worked with Hope Line of Raleigh for many years. He received the Long Leaf Pine Award for the many hours of work he did for the Hope Line. He also served as a Medic in the Vietnam War. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Raleigh, North Carolina. He is survived by a brother, John Mayfield (Myrtle) of Durham, a sister Ruth Changuion (Laurent) of Graham, two nieces Tersia Cronk of Jacksonville, NC, Hope D'Anna (Pete) of Mebane, a nephew Jacob Mayfield of Durham, a great niece Alyssa Cronk of Jacksonville.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, April 12, 2025 at 1:00 pm with visitation at 12:00 pm at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home in Raleigh, NC. In lieu of flowers please make donations to All Saints United Methodist Church either to the choir or the building fund, or Zion Methodist Church in Norlina, NC.
