Angier– Franklin Cleo Hobson, Sr., 79, passed away on Thursday surrounded by his loving family at Transitions LifeCare in Raleigh. A native of Harnett County, he was the son of the late Claude and Carrie Taylor Hobson. Mr. Hobson was a talented brick mason who loved to garden after his retirement. He enjoyed helping family and friends, and attending bluegrass music festivals. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday December 27, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Piney Grove Chapel Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Kennebec Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Edna Matthews Hobson; daughter, Brenda H. Turlington and husband, Johnny of Coats; son, Frankie Hobson and wife, Darlene of Dunn; daughter, Sandy H. Everette and husband, Travis of Angier; brothers, Robert T. Hobson of Linden, James E. Hobson and wife, Janice of Dunn, Shelton R. Hobson and wife, Brenda of Bunnlevel; grandchildren, Jessica Lee and husband, Daniel, Jonathan Turlington and wife, Amanda, Garrett Lee, Amy Pope and husband, Matthew, Trevor and Seth Everette, and 8 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hobson was preceded in death by sisters, Vilar Norris, Pauline Hobson, and brother, Claude Hobson, Sr. The family will receive friends on Tuesday December 26, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier, and at other times at the home of Sandy and Travis Everette.
