Garfield (Gary) Mackenzie, Jr.

Willow Springs, NC - Unexpectedly, at age 52 years, Gary left this life on February 16, 2014. He was born April 15, 1961, in Millinocket, Maine to Garfield (Gat) MacKenzie, Sr., and Phyllis (Malcolm) Valyear. Surviving is his wife, Jan, and his children: Chad (CT) and Kelsey, who were his pride and joy. He is also survived by his sisters: Teresa (Bob) Cook of NY, Wanda (Mike) Mooney of NY, Dorothy (Ronnie) Patton of NC, Laurie Pecora of NY, and Lynn Valyear of NY, as well as several deeply loved nieces and nephews. Gary is predeceased by both parents, a brother (Gordon Sinclair), and sister (Karen Ann). If you knew Gary, you were well aware of his love for hunting & fishing. His father used to chuckle and say, Gary would fish in a mud puddle. He also loved sports, and was a true Red Sox and Patriots fan. He was loved unconditionally, and will be greatly missed by us. We believe that he has finally achieved the peace that eluded him in the past few years, and for that, and with our Faith in God, we try to find comfort. Services will be at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 831 Wake forest Rd, Raleigh, NC 27604 on Friday 2/21/2014 at 1pm.
