Gary Dennis Evans

Garner – Gary Dennis Evans, 67, passed away on Friday, February 24, 2023. A native of Princeton NC, Dennis was born to the late Elwood Evans and Ruby Evans of Garner.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 5th at 3:00 pm at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner with a visitation prior from 2 to 2:45.

Dennis retired as a long-distance truck driver at U.S. Xpress. His career included many years with Mitchell’s Towing Service in Garner.

Dennis served as a volunteer fireman and EMT in Princeton NC. Dennis always had a smile and liked to make people laugh. He was fond of being a gardner, a carpenter and was happy playing the drums. He was passionate about fishing and grilling. Dennis was a member of SKYWARN, an amateur radio network that worked as storm spotters for the National Weather Service.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Dale Evans of Evergreen NC and her sons, Wake (Jenny) Quinn of Smithfield and Lee Quinn of Wilmington. Dennis is also survived by his brother Tony (Kathy) Evans of Holly Springs, niece Rebecca Evans of Apex and niece Elizabeth (Rob) Evans Rice of Holly Springs, great nephew Wyler Kendrick Rice of Holly Springs, Aunt Peggy Evans of Fayetteville and numerous cousins and great nieces and nephews.

Dennis loved animals. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the SPCA of Wake County.
