Gavin Lee Bailey

May 28, 2003 - December 9, 2011 HOLLY SPRINGS - Gavin Lee Bailey (8 years old) of Holly Springs died peacefully in his mothers and fathers arms Friday, December 9 at Duke University Medical Center.He was surrounded by family and loved ones.Gavin fought a valiant fight against Congenital Heart Defects and ultimately lost his life to neurological issues.During his short life here on earth he lived his life to the fullest and touched the lives of so many teaching us so many lessons.He taught us determination, that each day is a gift, and so many other important life lessons.He will be missed beyond words but never forgotten.A celebration of his life will be at Colonial Baptist Church in Cary on Tuesday, December 13 at 2:00 followed by a graveside service at Montlawn Memorial Park in Raleigh. He is survived by his daddy, David Bailey, his mommy, Denise North Bailey, his brother and sister, Dylan and Taylor Bailey, grandparents, Peggy North and Charles and Sheila Bailey.He is also survived by great grandparents, John and Carrie Riddle and Anne North.The family will receive friends and relatives Monday from 6:00 - 9:00 PM at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner.In lieu of flowers, his family asked that donations be made to Triangle Mended Little Hearts, 103 Torrey Pines Lane, Cary, NC 27513 (which is an organization which provides support to parents of children with heart disease), or Duke Childrens Hospital, Office of Development, 512 South Mangum St, Suite 400, Durham, NC 27701.
