George A. Pollard

July 27, 1929 - January 5, 2012 Raleigh - George A. Pollard, 82,passed away peacefully in his sleep early in the morning on January 5, 2012. He was born in Greenville, South Carolina and served as a Military Police officer. He was a retired loan manager from BB&T. He was preceded in death by his wife, JoAnn H. Pollard. A grave side service will be held at 11AM onSaturday, January 7, 2012 at Raleigh Memorial Park (7501 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh, NC 27612). The family will receive friends Friday, January 6, 2012, from 6 - 8PM at Bryan Lee Funeral Home (831 Wake Forest Road, Raleigh NC 27604). Mr. Pollard is survived by his daughters, Barbara MacKinnon and husband, Eric of Palmyra VA, Teresa Vanderford and husband Jim of Chapel Hill NC, and Angie Conklin and husband James of Raleigh, NC: five grandchildren-Miles and Summer Holen and Maria, Karen and Samantha Vanderford. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Community Home Care and Hospice, 7714 Chapel Hill Road, Raleigh NC 27607. Immediately following the service, friends of the family will be gathering at the home of Angie and James Conklin.
