George Edwin Rosenberger, 90, passed into eternal life with his heavenly Father on July 22nd. Ed is survived by his loving and devoted wife Erika of nearly 62 years, by sons Walter (Sara) and Steven (Pam), and grandchildren Aaron (Arianna), Ben, Alex (Makayla), Paul, Andrew, and Anna.
Born in Newark NJ, Ed attended Davis & Elkins College and served two years in the US Army. In 1954, he followed his parents to Raleigh NC with the opening of the Westinghouse Meter Plant. While working for Westinghouse and later Square D Company, he served as captain of the Wake New Hope Volunteer Fire Department, and on Governor Holshouser’s Efficiency Study Commission. A life-long railroader, he served as an NC DOT docent aboard the Amtrak Carolinian, later becoming an Assistant Conductor. He was a long-time member of Our Savior Lutheran Church. He loved his wife and was extremely proud of his family.
The family requests any gifts or memorials be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church, Raleigh, NC.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, July 31, 2023 at Our Savior Lutheran Church. Interment will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the church from 12:30 pm -m 2:00 pm prior to the service.
