George Michael Franklin

GARNER - George Michael Franklin, 32, passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2020. He was born December 18,1987 in Raleigh NC. He was the son of Lynn and Diane Blalock and the late Micky Franklin. Michael was a kind, funny, genuine and handsome friend to all. Michael’s free-spirited personality was larger than life. To honor that, his family will hold an outdoor sunset Celebration of Life Thursday, November 5,2020 at 4:30 pm at The Blalock House, 6741 Rock Service Station Road, Raleigh NC 27603. All friends and family are welcome. Michael is survived by his parents, Lynn and Diane Blalock; brother Jeremy Gaddy, sister Jennifer Locklear (J.D.); nieces, Caroline Gaddy and Blaire Locklear; nephews Dean and Jacob Locklear and a large extended family. In addition to his father, Michael was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dalton and Lois Ward and his Uncle Daryl Ward. A nonprofit organization, “Chasing Michael”, has been established to support the recovery efforts of people struggling with addiction and their families. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to “Chasing Michael”, 6765 Rock Service Station Road, Raleigh, NC 27603.
