George Yuhas, 76, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday morning. He was a humble man who loved his family and his Lord Jesus Christ. He leaves his wife of 54 years, Jane Hill Yuhas to cherish his memory along with his sons: George J. (Audra) of Knightdale; Michael J. (Stacy) of Port Jefferson Station, NY; grandchildren: Jordan, Leah, Gabrielle and Alexa; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his daughter Nancy in 2004. He was born in Pennsylvania to the late George Richard and Celia Malinowski Yuhas. George was Captain of his High School Basketball and Baseball teams. George worked as a Supermarket Manager with Bohack and King Kullen in Long Island, NY. He also worked with Charles Chips. He and Jane raised their 3 children in Port Jefferson Station, NY. George and Jane moved to Raleigh, NC 21 years ago and after arriving here, he worked for Alltech Corp in Raleigh. One of his biggest enjoyments was watching sports with his kids and grandchildren and having lively discussions after the games. He especially looked forward to March Madness and would fill out a bracket in honor of his daughter, Nancy. George was a fan of the NY Yankees and Dallas Cowboys. He loved watching his family play sports. He was their toughest critic and biggest fan. In lieu of flowers, donations for Jane to help assist with medical bills.
