RALEIGH – Georgia Ann Hopkins Phillips, 83, passed away Thursday night. She was the daughter of the late George and Edna Andrews Hopkins and beloved wife of Clay Randolph Phillips all of Warsaw. As a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother, with a sly sense of humor and a compassionate soul, she guided her family through life’s adventures. A Graveside Service honoring her life will be 2:30 pm Monday at Montlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00-2:00 pm at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner; and other times at the home of Randy and Sherri Phillips, 6008 Fayetteville Rd., Raleigh, NC 27603. Survivors include her daughter, Phylis Phillips Locke; son, Randy Phillips and wife, Sherri, all of Raleigh; grandchildren, Salina Locke Brown, Brent Phillips, Ben Phillips, and Josh Phillips all of Raleigh; great-grandchildren, Georgia Bailey Phillips and Ronan Brown, as well as her dear friend of 74 years, Doris Carlisle. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Clay Phillips; son, Greg Phillips; and grandson, Little Randy Phillips. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to Georgia’s longtime physician, Dr. Steven M. Liebowitz and his nurse, Laurie for their compassionate care. We also appreciate Karen Monger of Rex Pulmonary for her compassion as she guided us through the last two years, always with a warm smile and a hug. While flowers are appreciated, contributions may be made to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 10005 Lake Wheeler Rd., Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526.
