Gerald Wayne Smith

Cary - Gerald Wayne Smith, 68, of Cary, NC passed away recently at his home.He was born in Raleigh on August 7, 1945 and graduated from Enloe High School. He proudly served a tour of duty with the United States Navy during the Vietnam era and retired from Goodmark Foods in Garner after 30 years .He is survived by a son, Benjamin Ben Ross Smith and Benjamins mother Patricia Smith both of Cary, brother, Louis Edward Eddie Smith of Apex, nieces Kim Crutcher and Karen Mills and their mother Sue Smith all of Clayton. He was preceded in death by his parents C Smith and Inez Smith.A gathering of remembrance will be held at Bryan Lee Funeral Home, 831 Wake Forest Road, Raleigh on Sunday, November 2 from 3PM - 430PM. Private burial will be at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made to American Diabetes Association, Epilepsy Foundation of NC or Wake County SPCA.
