Geraldine Thornton Hunt

Raleigh– Geraldine Thornton Hunt, 86, passed away December 2, 2021. Born in Johnston County, she was the daughter to the late Frank B. and Rosa S. Thornton. In addition to her parents, Geraldine is preceded in death by her sisters, Donnie Ruth Lane and Evelyn Jenkins; brothers, Jerry Thornton, Herbert Thornton, and F.B. Thornton, Jr. Geraldine is survived by her loving husband, Sterling Hunt; daughter, Diane H. Strickland and husband, Michael; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Alice Bright, Louise Mozingo, and Betty Starbuck; brother, Gene Thornton; and sister-in-law, Yvonne Thornton. As well as many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 6th at 2:00 PM, at Montlawn Memorial Park, Raleigh. The family will receive friends and family for a time of visitation from 1:30 – 2:00 PM on Monday, December 6th, prior to the service, at Montlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. Flowers are welcome, or memorial contributions may be made in Geraldine’s memory to the Vandora Masonic Lodge #745, P.O. Box 618, Garner, NC 27529 or the Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.
