Glen Ellis Walton

Raleigh – Glen Ellis Walton, 83, was ushered into Heaven on January 31, 2023, surrounded by loved ones. A native of Johnston County, Glen was born July 31, 1939, to the late Jacob Linley and Josie Clifton Walton.

Glen retired from Cary Oil Company in 2012. He later volunteered at UNC Johnston Health in Clayton until 2022. Glen had a passion for baseball. He loved playing the game and watched as many games as he could. He also enjoyed playing golf and bowling with his friends. Glen loved people, he loved his family dearly, and he loved the Lord above all else. He faithfully served the Lord for the last 52 years of his life.

Glen is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Alene Walton; sons, Tim Walton (Tina) and Marty Walton (Sandy); grandchild, Timmy Walton (Mikayla); great-grandchildren, Camden, Xavier, and Xander; his sister Janie Holloway; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Glen was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Walton; and sister Helen Creech.

A memorial service will be held Monday, February 6, 2023, at 2:00 PM, in the Bryan-Lee Funeral Home Chapel, Garner. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 1:45 PM at the funeral home before the service.
